About me
My name is Joeli Seelen, and I am currently in my third year of the Equine Remedial Therapy program at the Canadian Equine Therapy Institute. I am certified in Equine Massage and will be completing the remainder of my schooling over the next year to receive my full certification as an Equine Remedial Therapist.
I have grown up with horses my entire life alongside my grandparents. As long as I can remember, I have had a deep love for these incredible animals. They have always amazed me with their strength, beauty, and presence. My life has truly revolved around this passion -from trail riding every summer in Kananaskis Country, to attending horse camps, riding around the farm, and sorting cattle. I was truly the little girl who was completely obsessed with horses and all things animal-related.
I have always felt a strong connection with animals. While they may not speak words, if you listen carefully, they communicate in their own powerful way. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a voice for them. I even began college with the dream of becoming a veterinarian. However, I quickly realized that veterinary school was not the right path for me. When a family friend introduced me to the Canadian Equine Therapy Institute, I immediately knew I had found my calling.
The past few years have been some of the most rewarding of my life. Gaining an understanding of the horse from a cellular level -including digestion and every system within the body -has been incredibly eye-opening. It is truly a dream come true to support these horses, whether through regular maintenance, rehabilitation, or simply providing a session that allows them to relax and feel their best.
My goal is to provide every horse with the highest level of care possible, using the knowledge and tools I have gained through my education to treat the whole horse -thoughtfully, thoroughly, and with genuine compassion.
